BURLINGTON, Ontario, Aug. 1, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bunzl Canada (bunzlcanada.ca) today announced the company’s first electric-powered haulage truck for Bunzl Cleaning and Janitorial’s Toronto delivery routes. The vehicle will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also reduce engine noise.
The new delivery truck is designed and manufactured by Lion Electric Company, a leading manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles. This lightweight, aerodynamic, 100% electric heavy-duty model is ideally suited for urban delivery.
“We specifically selected the Lion 6 for its exceptional efficiency, sustainability and handling in urban areas,” said Tim McKinnon, VP of Operations, Bunzl Canada. “This new technology will reduce emissions on some of our busiest roads in the Greater Toronto Area.”
Sustainability remains a key focus for Bunzl Canada in its operations and the products it provides. The company will also soon introduce electric vehicles on its urban delivery routes in Vancouver.
