Siloam Hospitals Group and Philips sign AI capability MoU to support Indonesia’s healthcare transformation strategy

The strategic collaboration, in partnership with the Medical Sciences Cluster of the University of Pelita Harapan (UPH), will focus on capacity building, knowledge exchange and implementation of advanced AI solutions. This partnership aligns with the Indonesian government’s healthcare strategy to improve access to healthcare, enhance clinical outcomes and embrace digital transformation.

Key focus areas of the partnership:

1. Artificial intelligence-based clinical care: Philips intends to introduce cutting-edge AI technologies into Siloam hospitals, particularly in areas such as radiology, pathology, (interventional) cardiology and clinical operations. AI will enhance clinical decision-making and improve workflow, enabling healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat patients more accurately and enhancing the system’s capacity to be able to support more patients.

2. Building local capabilities and expertise in the field of artificial intelligenceThe memorandum of understanding will focus on developing local expertise in the field of artificial intelligence and digital health through cooperation with the Medical Sciences Group at UPH. This initiative includes training programs to empower healthcare professionals, IT professionals and UPH students with the skills needed to develop and apply artificial intelligence in clinical settings.

3. Share global knowledge with Philips: As a global leader in healthcare informatics and artificial intelligence, Philips will share its expertise and global best practices with Siloam Hospitals and UPH.
