Advantest’s VOICE 2024 Draws Record Attendance in San Diego

The annual developer conference hosts major semiconductor companies to dialogue about the latest technologies and industry trends

TOKYO, June 27, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leading semiconductor testing equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) concluded its successful VOICE 2024 conference at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. The event was held June 3-5 and had a record attendance of more than 400 people, most of whom were Advantest customers and industry partners. This year’s VOICE event coincided with Advantest’s 70th anniversary, and the company was pleased to celebrate this important milestone with long-time customers and industry partners.

The VOICE 2024 panel received 225 abstracts from 40 global companies across 14 countries. Of those abstracts, 78 papers were submitted over two days, most of which were written or authored by Advantest clients. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) track has been added to this year’s technical program, in addition to a wide range of topics important to the Automated Test Equipment (ATE) industry, such as 5G/mm wave, high-performance computing, cloud technologies, and system-level testing.

This year’s event also featured an exciting line-up of three keynote speakers, including Craig Nishizaki, Vice President of Test Solutions Group at NVIDIA, Marcelo Ackermann, Professor of the XUV Optics Group at the University of Twente, and Andrea Lati, Director of Market Research. In addition to the keynotes, Advantest’s Kotaro Hasegawa and Michael Brown hosted a featured technical session featuring Advantest’s latest solutions to address emerging testing challenges for various applications including microLED and silicon photonics. Awards for best paper and best booth
Attendees used the VOICE mobile app to vote for Best Paper and Best Booth awards. This year’s Best Paper award went to Bernhard Mossler of Infineon and Sophik Dai and Gopal Saji of Advantest for their paper “Enabling Virtual Bandwidth Capability on the V93000.” Advantest’s Brent Pollock won the Best Paper award for “Early Detection of CRES Degradation in High-Current Power Aircraft.” Sony’s Makoto Iki received an Honorable Mention for his paper “Improving the Efficiency and Robustness of Gaussian Process-Based Outlier Detection via Ensemble Learning,” and Advantest’s Jun Zhang, Bowen Yang, and Jiamin Wang won for their paper “Boost the Performance of Test Program Development through Burst and Synchronization in SmartTest 8.” Advantest’s Keith Schwab and Nadine Schell won the Best Booth award for their booth “Advantest Talks Semi.”

This year’s Visionary Award was presented to Matt Silverstein, senior director of audio product engineering and testing at Analog Devices. Visionary Award recipients are honored for their significant and sustained contributions to VOICE over time.
