AA-I Technologies (Double AI), which was founded in August 2023 in Jerusalem by Professor Amnon Shashua, Published paper Today we introduce a new theoretical framework for artificial intelligence called artificial expert intelligence. The study concerns the development of artificial intelligence systems that combine knowledge in a field with scientific thinking capabilities. “Artificial expert intelligence (AEI) seeks to transcend the limitations of both artificial general intelligence (AGI) and narrow AI by combining domain-specific expertise with critical and careful thinking abilities similar to those of senior human experts,” the article summary states. Shashua published the results of the study on his account.

The company was created by a team consisting of Shashua himself, Professor Shai Shalev Schwartz, Dr. Yoav Levin, and Dr. Or Sharir (former scientists at AI21 is goodanother company in which Shashua is involved), Dr. Noam Weiss (formerly an algorithm specialist at another company Shashua, OrCam), Professor Nathan (Nati) Linial, and Dr. Gal Benjamini. According to industry estimates, the company has raised tens of millions of dollars to date.

The paper published today presents a new approach to artificial intelligence, dividing heuristics into three levels: instinctive heuristics; Reflective thinking; A new third level is called scientific reasoning. The company is studying the new approach to solving algorithmic problems, and plans to publish the results of its research soon.

In September this year, Shashua told the Goldfarb Gross Seligman and PwC Israel Up & Coming conference that he had recently founded a startup but did not name it. He said: “10 months ago I founded an artificial intelligence company, and it is still in secret.”

Asked why investing billions of dollars in companies in this field is a profitable business, Shashua replied: “Unlike the technological waves of the past, there are indications in this wave that somewhere around the corner large-scale intelligence will develop here.” “The intention is that these systems will be able to imitate human intelligence in solving problems.”

It was also reported in September that AA-I was one of 80 startups to join Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) AI accelerator. The AWS program provides companies with direct access to servers including high-speed AI processors, gives them each $1 million, and asks them to present their products at the AWS re:Invent conference, currently being held in Las Vegas, in front of an audience of VIPs from the worlds of technology and finance. .
