Alberta Energy Regulator penalizes CNRL for contravening the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act

CALGARY, Alberta, July 15, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has fined Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) for violating Section 155 of the Alberta Energy Act. Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (a period). The energy regulator ordered CNRL to pay $278,000.

Following investigation, the Australian Energy Regulator has determined that between 21 May 2022 and 4 August 2022, CNRL contravened Section 155 of the a period Due to failure to prevent a hazardous material containing bitumen from coming into contact with birds and other wildlife, resulting in the death of birds.
