Investing.com – Australian shares rose after the close on Monday, as gains in the equities sector led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the index rose by 0.47%.
The best performers of the session were Abyan Limited (ASX:), which rose 8.29%, or 0.18 points, to 2.35 at close. Meanwhile, REGIS RESOURCES LIMITED (ASX:) continued to rise by 6.02% or 0.13 points and closed at 2.29. SOUTH 32 LIMITED (ASX:) rose 4.17% or 0.15 points to 3.75 at the end of the session.
It was the worst performance of the session Webgate Ltd (ASX:). Its stock fell 34.57%, or 2.43 points, and was trading at 4.60 levels at closing. Cromwell Property Group ASX shares fell 5.17% or 0.02 points to close at 0.41. TPG COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED (ASX:) fell 4.13% or 0.21 points to 4.88.
The number of advancing shares outnumbered the declining shares on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 541 shares to reach 539 shares, and 372 shares closed unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.03% or 0.70 and closed at $2,677.00 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude oil for November delivery fell 0.99%, or 0.75, to $74.81 a barrel, while Brent oil for December fell 0.99%, or 0.78, to $78.26 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY rose 0.12% to 100.58.
US dollar index futures rose 0.13% to 102.81.
