The average monthly gross salary for workers in Israel increased by 5.3% in May 2023 to 12,009 shekels, compared to May 2022, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics. The rally has been eroded almost entirely by inflation, which averaged 4.6% over the 12-month period. The average monthly gross salary for the month of May decreased from 12,622 shekels in April 2023.

In the technology sector, the average salary in April 2023 was 29,219 shekels, up 5.4% from April 2022 but down from 31,685 shekels in March 2023. However, due to inflation, salaries in the technology sector have also been eroded. The number of salaried jobs in the technology sector in April 2023 increased by 2.6% over April 2022.

Between May 2022 and May 2023, the number of salaried jobs in the Israeli economy grew by 1.1%, less than the 2% that the population grew during that period. The number of jobs increased by 1.3% between April 2023 and March 2023, reflecting the slowdown in the economy.
