DUBLIN (Reuters) – Global leasing giant Avulon said on Thursday it had agreed terms to commit to an order for 40 Boeing (NYSE: 737 MAX) jets in a deal worth more than $4 billion at current prices.

Avulon, the world’s third-largest aircraft leasing company, said new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered from 2027 to 2030 and will increase the total size of its owned, operated and committed fleet to 870 aircraft.

“Our commitment with Boeing reflects our confidence in the long-term outlook for the aviation sector. It will also support our airline customers looking to plan for the post-COVID robust traffic recovery and prepare for future growth, while also reducing carbon emissions,” said CEO Andy Cronin. .
