Bahrain Airport to Install Stained Glass Masterpiece, “Concordia,” by World-Renowned Artist Sir Brian Clarke

Muharraq, Bahrain, February 11, 2025 (Globe Neuwins) – In the wake of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al -Shatiya, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain International Airport, he is proud to announce the installation of a main glass work of color colored by the internationally acclaimed artist Sir Brian Clark, entitled “Concordia”, which will start this week. The huge work, which is 17 meters high and a width of 34 meters (578 square meters), will be one of the largest stained glass facilities of its kind in the region.

Sir Brian Clark, a famous scientist, painter and architectural artist in the name of “Modern Colored Glass Father”, is often referred to as distinctive works of architectural landmarks around the world, including cooperation with Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster. His work in landmarks appeared all over the world, including the Al -Falasia Center in Riyadh, the King Khalid International Airport Mosque in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the 14 meters high glass wing, and the Stamford cone in Connecticut. Sir Brian Clark on a large scale is the most important artist working in colored glass today. Throughout his fifty -year career, Clark has constantly caused a revolution and pushed the boundaries of the stained glass. It was assigned to design colored glass for buildings all over the world by prominent architects including Norman Foster, Erata Isozaki and Zahi Hadid, and has made great efforts to revitalize the attention and respect of colored glass as a means of equal importance to other art.

He got his first commission for a tinged glass window at the age of 17 and has worked in the middle since then. Its most famous projects include the royal mosque of King Khaled International Airport (1982), New Knis in Darmstat (1988), Wahidia, Leeds (1989), Lake Sagami Cunter Klopp, Japan (1989), Nortchop, Rio de Janeiro (1996), Center Al-Falasia in Raydeh (1997-2000), Fayzer International headquarters in New York (1997-2001) and Linköping Cathedral in Sweden (2010). In 2024, he will work on a major committee for Bahrain Airport. Each project is derived from architecture and surrounding culture to create an installation that is a distinctive part of the structure.

His work was shown in stained glass, drawing and sculpting widely around the world. Exhibitions Filips include the London Exhibition, the Cincberry Center for Visual Arts, Pace London, Bus New York, Jagosian and Cristizer London. His work can also be found in the permanent V & A London Museum, the Corning Glass New York and Tate. Its very famous show, “Brian Clark: The Art of Light” was presented at the Museum of Art and Design in New York on 2020/21.

Many technical innovations in stained glass include the manufacture of lead -stained glass panels. It appears for the first time in 2002 at the “Brian Clarge: Transillingation” exhibition with “Caryatids” studies and “Studies in Grisaille”. This developed into the right panels and fabricated stained glass screens with heening. In 1994, he developed a new type of blown glass with the architect Zaha Hadid for the housing project in Sepitola, Austria. The design of the Stanstt Airport (1988) is the first time in the history of the stained glass used by a computers to help design and creativity to produce stained glass. Lead is a set of work without precedent in the history of art. These works reflect the traditional logic of colored glass windows, making lead the primary ingredient for work.
