Binance doesn’t see a clear roadmap for getting exec out of Nigeria

Noah Perlman, Chief Compliance Officer at Binance, discussed the latest developments in the legal battle involving Nigeria and Binance CEO Tigran Gambaryan.

Perelman commented on the ongoing saga involving two Binance executives and the Nigerian government without giving much hope of a resolution anytime soon.

“We don't really see a clear road map for restoring it in the near term,” Perelman said during a press conference. interview With CNBC, referring to Tigran Gambaryan.

Binance executives Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anggarwal were arrested in February and charged with criminal violations by the Nigerian government. Gambarian is awaiting trial, while Anggarwal escaped custody although he was eventually extradited from Kenya to Nigeria.

The two individuals arrived in Nigeria to discuss regulatory issues on behalf of Binance and the recent government crackdown on cryptocurrency trading platforms with officials. They were arrested and detained in a government facility without their passports after negotiations.

Gambarian and Angarwala – Binance's regional director for Africa – each faced four charges of tax evasion, including failure to register with Nigeria's Federal Inland Revenue Service.
