Bitcoin Lightning App Strike Expands to UK with Global Transfers

Bitcoin Lightning Payments App Contains Strike Expanded into the UKallowing UK residents to buy, sell and transfer Bitcoin globally.

Strike, founded by Jack Mallers, aims to make Bitcoin accessible through its mobile app, which leverages the Lightning Network. Launching in the UK, Strike is now available in 100 countries worldwide.

Jack Mallers said they are committed to growing Bitcoin adoption and providing its services globally despite regulatory complexities. “Our work is far from done,” he added.

To use Strike in the UK, users must pass a Bitcoin “suitability assessment” test, which is required by local regulations. The app also includes the usual risk warnings.

Strike offers several features for UK customers, including purchasing Bitcoin through instant bank transfers, setting up recurring purchases, and self-custodial withdrawals.

The app also uses the Lightning Network to enable instant, unlimited, and free payments globally between Strike users, providing a seamless cross-border transfer experience.

While some companies have exited the UK market, their expansion reflects a belief in Bitcoin’s potential, Strike said. The UK offers opportunities as the world’s sixth largest economy.

He hits It continues to work to make Bitcoin accessible to everyday users and businesses around the world. While region-specific regulations create hurdles, the company aims to comply while delivering core functionality.
