Bombardier workers at Toronto assembly plant end strike

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Workers represented by the Unifor union at Bombardier’s aircraft assembly plant in the Greater Toronto Area have ratified a new three-year contract, ending an 18-day strike.

The union says The agreement includes general wage increases of 12.5 percent over the life of the agreement, increased pension contributions, and improved job security.

Workers build the company’s global aircraft line.

The new contract also includes employment and job ownership commitments for members across the company’s global fleet, including the new 8000 Series ultra-long-range business jet.

Bombardier says it is committed to the site and the continued success of its global aircraft family.

Normal collection operations are expected to resume on Wednesday.
