Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that he will formally resign from his position as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, when the party chooses his successor.
Trudeau has faced widespread criticism over the past few years for his inability to solve the housing shortage, inflation and other economic struggles facing the country. He also stated that he is fighting internal battles and therefore cannot be the best choice for the country in the upcoming Canadian federal election in 2025.

Trudeau, known for his anti-Bitcoin stance along with other bad economic policies, said in early 2023 that his political opponent and Canadian Conservative Party leader, Pierre Poilievre, was not fit to lead because he correctly asked Canadian citizens to withdraw. From inflation by holding Bitcoin. Trudeau picked up on the data when Poilievre said it and used it as an attempt to make holding Bitcoin look like a bad decision, suggesting that Canadians would have lost half their savings if they had bought Bitcoin.
If Trudeau were intellectually honest and able to see the bigger picture, he would also encourage his fellow citizens to accumulate Bitcoin as well, because the price of Bitcoin has risen by about 375% since Trudeau tried to mock saving in Bitcoin.

Canada is scheduled to hold its federal election later this year, and has the potential to elect the next global Bitcoin leader – Pierre Poilievre. Poilievre is a staunch advocate of Bitcoin and has done the work to understand what money is. Below is a wonderful 10-minute speech by Poilievre about money, showing his deep understanding of it. Similar to how Trump visited PubKey in New York City to purchase burgers and drinks using the Bitcoin Lightning Network, Poilievre also visited a local Bitcoin business to purchase food using Bitcoin. In 2023, he visited Canada restaurant Accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment and paying in Bitcoin for food, further demonstrating his openness to embracing the asset and promoting its use as a means of exchange and not just a store of value.

Bitcoin users in Canada have the opportunity to vote for a Prime Minister who has sound economic policies and encourages the use of Bitcoin. If this happens, they will join the ranks of the United States, El Salvador and other countries that have leaders embracing Bitcoin and its benefits. The Canadian election is scheduled to be held on or before October 20, 2025.
I personally believe that Poilievre is Canada’s best choice in this election, not only because of his pro-Bitcoin stance, but because of his economic policies, freedom-oriented mentality, and rational thinking. I hope to see Canada embrace Bitcoin, and solve its economic problems caused by Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada’s mismanagement of the economy by selecting new Conservative leadership and encouraging more use of Bitcoin in the country.
So, Canadians, get out and vote for Poilievre in this election. This is your chance to make history and embrace the future of finance with Bitcoin.
