Blockchain platform Casper Network has announced to the community that a “major security breach” that occurred yesterday has been contained.
Casper Network Suspends Operations
In a post on X today, July 28, the team behind the Casper Network (CSPR) announced: Advertise The issue is still being resolved, but the security breach has been contained. The official blockchain X account also promised more updates throughout the day. The post from today also states that “a solution is being worked on.”
Yesterday, July 27, Casper Network, which currently has a market cap of just over $230 million, announced to the X community that the chain had been hacked and that network activity had been halted.
but, commerce CSPR, the native cryptocurrency of the Casper Network, continues to trade despite the blockchain network’s suspension of operations. CSPR has fallen by more than 15% over the past week.
Other recent cryptocurrency hacks
Earlier this month, Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX suffered a hack that cost users over $230 million in lost funds. Yesterday, the exchange announced a controversial “established” compensation program for users that would allow affected users to recover at least some of their stolen funds.
