ChatGPT Creator’s Latest Project: World Coin Launches Crypto Wallet

Sam Altman, creator of ChatGPT, caught the attention of the cryptocurrency industry in 2021 by reviving a token founded in 2013, World Coin. The project has been progressing slowly, but today it will launch a new tool designed for the “age of artificial intelligence”.

According to a press release shared with Bitcoinist, the team behind World Coin has launched a new crypto wallet called World App, which is both a financial and identity manager. Previously in the testing phase running on Polygon, the crypto wallet is now open to the public and free to download.

ChatGPT, isn’t the only tool that will change the world?

With a streamlined interface, the wallet will natively support the two global cryptocurrency ecosystems, Ethereum. The app is designed to remove the friction of onboarding new users with crypto.

In this sense, the app was created with three primary goals: to provide people with a decentralized alternative to manage their data and identity, access to finance, and increase crypto adoption.

According to the release, the universal app was “intentionally designed” to protect people’s privacy. The crypto wallet will provide users with access to rewards for learning about cryptocurrencies and even global currency grants to help the project evolve into a toolkit to “empower people in the age of artificial intelligence, built on top of a network of real humans.”

The global app is available in more than 80 countries. During its beta phase, the global app welcomed more than 1.5 million users with 500,000 active monthly users and 60,000 transactions. Thiago Sada, Head of Product at Tools for Humanity, told Bitcoinist the following regarding their latest product:

The World App’s intentionally simple design aims to accelerate adoption of financial systems and decentralize identity. World removes a lot of the complexities while maintaining important features like self-guarding and privacy. It is uniquely enabled with World ID proof of character to offer features like no-gas transactions, learn how to earn spins, and 24/7 chat support for increased accessibility.

Beyond a crypto wallet, what is the application of the world?

The World app will be compatible with World ID, another app that acts as a “human passport to access” to the Internet. The application provides a seamless connection to the online world, allowing users to verify their identity, log into websites, and access decentralized applications.

In addition, the universal app can be linked to the legacy financial system. The app has many deposit and withdrawal options for bank accounts and local payment methods. People can send and receive money instantly for free.

In release, the app aims to become more than just a crypto wallet:

Universal App Wallets use the ability to withdraw the account through security Contracts for increased security and simplicity. Peer-to-peer payments support ENS usernames for friendlier ERC-20 transfers. Token trading is made possible through the Uniswap protocol. Circle USDC enables users around the world to hold stablecoins backed by real dollars in a compatible manner. Frictionless deposits and withdrawals are enabled by regulated providers around the world, including Ramp and MoonPay

ChatGPT changed the world. The tool has provided millions with the ability to boost their workload and create at a new, faster pace. Could App World achieve something similar in the crypto industry?
