Check Point acquires Israeli co Cyberint for $200m

Israeli Cyber ​​Security Check Point Software Technologies Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP) announced the acquisition of an Israeli company specializing in threat intelligence and digital protection. Cyber ​​IntNo financial details were disclosed, but market sources estimate the acquisition is for about $200 million in cash — a reasonable return for investors in Cyberint, which has raised about $65 million.







This is the 22nd acquisition for the veteran Check Point company and comes just one month after it announced the appointment of Nadav Zafrir as CEO, replacing founder Gil Shwed, who will become CEO.

Cyberint’s investors include Viola Growth Fund, StageOne Ventures, and private investors such as former Amdocs CEO Dov Baharav and Avi Naor. According to IVC, Cyberint was founded by Raz Alon, Itai Yanovsky, and Shai Briel, who are no longer involved in the company’s management. Cyberint’s CEO is Yochai Korem, and the company has 170 employees.
