euroAtlantic Airways asked to operate Tech-Air’s Israel-US flights

An Israeli organization has asked Portuguese charter airline EuroAtlantic Airways to operate flights between Tel Aviv and New York’s JFK Airport, the ch-aviation news site reported. Raul Largo, EuroAtlantic’s chief commercial officer, told “ch-aviation” that his airline had received a request from several intermediaries to operate flights between Tel Aviv and New York, but added that EuroAtlantic had not been in direct contact with the end customer and did not know whether It was so or not. It was DemocraTech.

Last month, the Israeli technology entrepreneur movement DemocraTech announced that it had founded Tech-Air, which will operate three weekly flights on the Tel Aviv-New York route between January and March 2025 to compete with El Al, the only carrier currently operating direct flights. Between Israel and the United States. The flights will operate on a “wet lease” basis where DemocraTech leases the aircraft, pilots and crews from a charter company.

Tech-Air last week launched a registration website for those interested, including members of the public, in the flights. The model reveals that the flights will depart Ben Gurion Airport around midnight Israel time and land early in the morning in New York. The days of the week on which the flights will operate have not yet been determined, although one flight will be during the weekend. Return flight prices will be $1,350 for all seats in economy class, $2,600 in premium class, and $5,400 in business class.
