With the European Union recommending airlines stop flying to Israel, North American airlines canceling flights weeks in advance, and Israeli airlines fully booked for holidays, there are still options for entering and exiting the country. The only exception is Arkia, which still offers one-way tickets from Athens to Tel Aviv for more than $800.
The best option in terms of affordable tickets are flights to Tel Aviv from the Romanian capital, Bucharest. According to the airlines’ websites, round-trip tickets between Tel Aviv and Bucharest are still available for $565 on Tarom, $300 on Hi-Sky, and just $132 on Biz Airlines, a low-cost airline that began flying to Israel in August.

More expensive options include one-way tickets to Abu Dhabi for US$962 with Etihad Airways, US$1,212 to Dubai with Flydubai, and US$2,004 to Addis Ababa with Ethiopian Airlines. Air Seychelles, Smartwings, Azimuth, Uzbek Airways, Red Wings, Hainan Airlines, Erzina and Georgia Airlines are still flying to Israel as well, in addition to El Al, Israir and Arkia.
However, these prices are likely to rise quickly as more and more tickets are sold.
