Sveriges Riksbank is Sweden’s central bank, operating independently of the European Central Bank (ECB). Sweden is a member of the European Union (EU). Although Sweden is a member of the European Union, it has not adopted the euro as its official currency, which means that it does not participate in the Eurosystem and the monetary policy decisions of the European Central Bank. Instead, the Riksbank manages monetary policy for the Swedish krona.
- The Riksbank is a member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). The ESCB consists of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of all EU member states.
