Two former employees of UK retail broker OvalX (formerly ETX Capital), Nicole Simpson and Tony Adams, have announced new roles at BidX Markets and Alvar Financial Services Limited. A third employee, Ella Hacer Gumus, who worked at Oval Money, the financial technology company that runs investment app Oval and brokerage OvalX, is joining Trade Nation.
Former employees revealed their new roles on LinkedIn. The new roles come as OvalX confirmed it will close on March 17, 2023 after selling its client book to rival Capital.com.

Simpson, who was previously a Senior Customer Support Associate at OvalX, has joined BidX Markets as Senior Chief Operating Officer. She joined the London-based multi-asset liquidity solutions provider after more than a year at OvalX.
Nicole has more than five years of experience in the new position. Her experience in the financial services industry began in January 2017 at Vanarama where she spent just over six years and worked as a Credit Specialist for nearly four years.
Prior to BidX, she was a part-time Executive Director of Customer Success at Zeigo, an organization that accelerates decarbonisation for businesses of all sizes.
For his part, Tony Adams worked with OvalX’s multi-asset sales and marketing team, targeting individuals and high net worth professionals. He held this position for three and a half years and now joins Alpha Financial as a Senior Sales Trader.
Adams brings nearly 40 years of merchandising experience to his new role at OvalX. Over the years, he has worked in various capacities such as Business Development Advisor at King Shaxson Limited, Head of Execution and Sales at Sunrise Brokers LLP and as a Sterling Desk Trader at Citibank NA.
On the other hand, Gumus joined Trade Nation, a forex and CFD trading firm, as Affiliate Marketing Director after just four months as Senior Marketing Director at Oval Money. She joined Oval Money from brokerage firm OANDA where she worked in the same capacity for about two years.
Gumus, who brings more than 15 years of marketing experience to his new role at Trade Nation, previously served as Director Affiliate Marketing and CEO at GAIN Capital, Core Spreads, Ancil Group, and GVC Group, among others.
