Do it or break it for brokers in Africa and beyond

Much focus will be spent on brokerage opportunities in Africa. In fact, many businesses and service providers are setting their sights on Africa as an engine of growth.

This will be the focus at one of the most anticipated panels of May’s Make It or Break It event, which takes place May 10, 10:50-11:30 at Center Stage.

This session will provide an inside look at the most important aspects of business development on the continent and beyond. Join a group of experts to get access to some money making tips. This panel for FMAS: will feature the following 23 talented speakers:

  • Joseph Michael Stefani, Head of Africa Region, HF Markets Group
  • Nick Sproul, MD – South Africa, National Commerce
  • Solomon Godin, Country Director – South Africa, market.com
  • Nelisiwe Masango, Founder and CEO, Ubuntu Invest
  • Mark Whitman, CEO and Principal Individual, Unum Capital
  • (Moderator) Jimmy Muyaha, Founder and Financial Markets Specialist, Lebowa Capital

According to Mr. Sproul, “I am very excited to participate in a panel discussion at FMAS. Africa has long been seen as a growth area for brokers, but navigating the regulatory landscape and payment options presented some challenges. Attending this discussion will give guests some insights into the products and services that will shape growth in the region.”

Committee members will also seek answers to the following questions: What assets, tools and features are most attractive to local traders? How do you work productively with local IBs and affiliates (and stay committed)? How do liquidity relationships work across markets and regions? What developments do you need to know about in the FSCA and other regulators?

The highlight of the discussion will likely be the challenges and opportunities facing brokers operating in Africa and other emerging markets. Brokers in these areas face unique regulatory, economic, and cultural challenges that can make it difficult for them to succeed. However, there are also many opportunities for growth and innovation in these markets, and brokers who are able to address these challenges can thrive. The public should attend the discussion to learn more about these challenges and opportunities, and gain insight into how successful brokers overcome them,” Mr. Stephanie noted before the event.
