Forget Pink Drink: Starbucks Has a New Blue Viral Sensation

There’s a blue drink on a secret menu and a different blue drink on offer for a limited time that reaches the level heights of the Unicorn Frappuccino.

Starbucks has two paths to creating the viral new beverage craze.

The first is traditional, where a company launches a product, usually as a limited-time offer, and people really love it.

Once this happens, the company has a number of options. He could make it a yearly repeat drink, add it to the permanent menu, or bring it back as a surprise now and then.

Usually Starbucks (sex) – Get a free report He simply rotates these limited-time offers through the list so he can bring them back periodically.

Don’t Miss: Two Viral Starbucks Drinks Are Coming Back (in Brand New Form)

Another path for the coffee shop giant to find new brews is the secret list created by fans.

In most cases, these are drinks that people order by modifying existing menu items into something new. Once people create a recipe, they share it on social media, give it a name, and if it goes viral, people start ordering it.

This presents a challenge for the chain as Starbucks baristas don’t always know the recipe for the latest fan-created beverage sweeping social media. For example, before the Pink Drink became a regular menu item, its fans could order drinks and not know exactly what they were getting. (Alternatively, they could enter the drink as they knew it into the app.)

Starbucks changed this uncertain dynamic when it embraced the Pink Drink and added it first as a limited-time offering and later to its full-time menu.

Now, Starbucks has another viral sensation: a company created by one company that’s only available in one market. And you’ll likely have to bring it to the US — or deal with customers’ clumsy attempts to order it without all the ingredients on the menu.

Starbucks adds its first blue drink

Globally, Starbucks has been doing well with colored drinks. The Pink Drink has been a hit in many countries, and the vibrant yellow drink has appeared on some of his menus around the world. The Unicorn Frappuccino is, of course, purple with streaks of light blue, but it wasn’t really a blue drink.

Now, Starbucks customers in the UK have embraced the series’ first official blue beverage, the Blue Raspberry Cloud Frappuccino. Introduced for only 10 days in the UK, the drink has become a social media sensation and is sold out in some locations.

Starbucks describes the Blue Raspberry Cloud Frappuccino on its website:

“The Dreamy Creamy Frappuccino: A delicious blueberry fudge flavor topped with whipped cream and crunchy pale blue sugar sprinkles. Dream your way to the spring skies,” the company said.

Esoteric marketing jargon aside, the new drink uses a vanilla Frappuccino base and whole milk topped with whipped cream, blue sugar and blueberry powder. You can substitute the type of milk, although this may change the look of the drink.

The drink, which already looks like a cloudy sky, doesn’t include coffee. You could add an espresso shot or two, but again, that would ruin the aesthetics of the drink.

Starbucks has not commented on whether it will bring the Blue Raspberry Cloud Frappuccino to the United States

US Starbucks has a blue drink on its secret menu

While you can’t order a Blue Raspberry Cloud Frappuccino in the US because the toppings simply aren’t on the menu, you can get a Blue Raspberry Cloud Frappuccino from the secret menu. It’s actually a very simple arrangement with three elements:

  • Passion tango iced tea
  • Pour the soy milk to get the water
  • Add vanilla syrup

“The creamy color of the soy milk mixed with the vibrant reddish pink coloring of the herbal tea makes for a pure blue drink that’s icy and refreshing,” according to Coconut Mama’s website.

“What does it taste like? It’s sweet, fruity, and floral. Passion Tango tea is made with a fruity blend of hibiscus, apple, and lemon, and the addition of Starbucks soy milk (sweetened) along with vanilla simple syrup ups the sweetness a notch,” the site added.
