Former NSE chief Geoffrey Odundo joins CPF Group on advisory role

Geoffrey Odundo, former CEO of the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE), has joined financial services provider CPF Group in an advisory role.

The company provides retirement benefit scheme, trust fund and administrative services.

“Mr. Odundo, a respected leader in African financial markets, will play a pivotal role in CPF’s strategic expansion into new markets across the Pan-African region,” CPF said in a statement.

Mr. Odundo headed the National Stock Exchange for nine years until February 2024, during which he oversaw the expansion of the products offered to investors on the exchange, including the establishment of the region’s first financial derivatives market.

Prior to assuming his role at NSE, Mr. Odundo was the Managing Director and CEO of Kingdom Securities Limited, Co-optrust Investment Services and Co-op Consultancy Services, all subsidiaries of the Cooperative Bank of Kenya Limited.

He continues to hold positions on high-level boards and committees, including the African Stock Exchanges Association and the World Federation of Stock Exchanges.

As Executive Advisor, Mr. Odundo is expected to focus on identifying strategic opportunities for growth and ensuring that CPF Group remains at the forefront of financial innovation and service excellence on the continent.

Mr. Odundo holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Egerton University, an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Southern California, Africa, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration and Management at the University of Nairobi.
