Investing.com – French stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and stocks sectors led higher while losses in the , and stocks sectors led lower.
At the close of the Paris Stock Exchange, the US stock market index fell by 0.57%, while the index rose by 0.54%.
The best performers in the session were: Thales (EPA:), which rose 2.04%, or 2.90 points, to trade at 144.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:) added 0.91% or 0.14 points to close at 15.56 and puig SA (EPA:) shares rose 0.77%, or 0.25 points, to 32.60 in late trading.
The worst performer of the session was LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:), which fell 1.94% or 11.80 points to trade at 595.90 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:) stock fell 1.62% or 2.05 points to close at 124.55. Edenred South African Plc (EPA:) shares fell 1.54%, or 0.56 points, to 35.86.
The best performer on the SBF 120 was Atos SE (EPA:) which rose 7.11% to 0.73, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which rose 6.55% to close at $12.61 and Voltalia SA (EPA:) which rose 4.04% to close at 8.25.
The worst performer was Eutelsat Communications (EPA:), which fell 2.89% to 3.90 in late trading, Lectra SA (EPA:) which lost 2.78% to settle at 28.00 Inter Perfumes EPA shares fell 2.71% to $41.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 251 to 216, while 110 remained unchanged.
Shares of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:) fell to a new 52-week low, down 1.94%, or 11.80, to 595.90.
The CAC 40 index, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% at 18.96, a new 52-week high.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.14%, or 3.70, to trade at $2,596.10 an ounce. In other trading, November crude oil futures fell 0.70%, or 0.49, to $69.47 a barrel, while November Brent oil futures fell 0.73%, or 0.54, to trade at $73.16 a barrel.
The EUR/USD pair remained unchanged by 0.04% at 1.11, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged by 0.25% at 0.84.
US dollar index futures rose 0.04% to 100.61.
