Huntington Ingalls (New York Stock Exchange: HIIHe said Monday that Newport News’ shipbuilding division has been awarded a US Navy contract worth up to $528.4 million to support maintenance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in San Diego, California.
The contract covers maintenance, repair and modernization efforts to Nimitz– And Gerald R Ford– First class aircraft carriers home and visit the San Diego area.
Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Contract for Emergency Work Support, Continuous Maintenance Availability, and Scheduled Availability for the Navy’s Tanker Chief of Marine Operations.
The company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division is the only American designer, builder, and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
