India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.21% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Indian stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in sector and by sector led stocks higher.

At the close on the New York Stock Exchange, the index rose by 0.21%, while the index added 0.16%.

It was the best performance of the session on Bharat Petroleum (NS:), whose value increased by 3.39%, or 12.20 points, and reached 371.65 at the close. while, HCL Technologies Ltd shares (NS::) added 2.69%, or 29.90 points, to close at 1,139.65 and Infosys Ltd (NS 🙂 was up 2.05% or 26.00 points at a price of 1,291.95 at the end of trading.

As for the worst performer at the end of the day’s trading, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) closed down by 1.29%, or 3.15 points, and traded at 241.75 levels at the close. Larsen and Toubro Ltd (NS:) fell by 0.98%, or 23.05 points, to close at 2,339.95 and Cipla (NS:) fell 0.96%, or 9.30 points, to 959.95.

The best performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO 🙂 which rose 2.58% to 1,139.00, Infosys Ltd (BO 🙂 which rose 2.05% to settle at 1,291.90 and NTPC Ltd (BO 🙂 which rose 1.64% to close at 185.70.

The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO 🙂 which fell 1.25% to 241.70 in late trade, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO 🙂 which lost 1.04% to settle at 2339.40 and Titan Company Ltd (BO 🙂 which was down 0.82% to 2,853.20 at the close.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the National Stock Exchange of India by 1,160 to 808 and 70 closed unchanged; On the Bombay Stock Exchange, it rose by 2,063, declined by 1,528, while it closed unchanged by 129.

Shares in NTPC Ltd (BO:) rose to a 5-year high; It rose 1.64%, or 3.00, to 185.70.

The Nifty 50 Index, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, rose 1.12% to 11.24.

Gold futures for August delivery rose 0.14%, or 2.85%, to $1,980.05 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery fell 2.31%, or 1.62%, to $68.55 a barrel, while the Brent oil contract for August fell 1.99%, or 1.49%, to trade at $73.30 a barrel.

USD/INR fell 0.02% to 82.43, while EUR/INR rose 0.23% to 88.83.

US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.21%, to 102.93.
