Iran’s supreme leader has upped his rhetoric, warning of an “overwhelming response” to the country’s enemies – including the United States – in the wake of an Israeli missile strike on the country a week ago.
“The enemies, whether the Zionist regime or the United States, will undoubtedly receive a crushing response to their actions against Iran and the resistance front,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a speech he delivered in Tehran on Saturday, state television reported.
Without providing further details, Khamenei said that the hostilities against the Islamic Republic “will not be forgotten.”
