Yesterday, the Israeli Ministry of Defense signed a huge deal worth $5.2 billion with Boeing to purchase 25 advanced F-15 fighter jets. The deal will be financed by US aid to Israel and includes an option to purchase 25 additional fighter aircraft.
Director General of the Ministry of Defense, General (Res.) Eyal Zamir, signed the contract authorization during his visit to the United States last month, and yesterday after negotiations conducted by the Ministry of Defense procurement delegation in the United States in cooperation with the Israeli Air Force. The deal was signed.

The new fighter aircraft to be acquired are the F15IA, which will be equipped with the latest weapons systems with options to upgrade the aircraft’s range to longer distances, increase payload capacity and improve performance in various operational situations. Delivery of F-15s will begin in 2031 and will continue at a rate of 4-6 aircraft per year.
Israel and the United States stressed that this deal is a major milestone in deepening security cooperation between the two countries, and expresses their mutual commitment to maintaining regional security.
