Israeli businessman offers Gazans $100,000 reward for hostages

Former SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum offered the reward to anyone who would hand over a live Israeli hostage from Gaza.

“This is a message to the good people of Gaza. I have an offer for you,” is how former SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum introduced himself in a video he posted on social media.

Birnbaum continues: “This year has been a terrible year. It is time to move on. A few days ago Benjamin Netanyahu promised free passage and immunity to anyone who hands over an Israeli prisoner to Israel. And I would add to that a financial reward. Anyone who hands over a living Israeli prisoner from Gaza will receive $100,000 to be paid in cash or Bitcoin as you prefer. This offer is valid until midnight on Wednesday, October 24.

Birnbaum’s message to Gazans, as stated in the clip, comes amid reports of leaflets distributed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip over the past few days saying that “Hamas no longer controls Gaza.”

The leaflets also say: “Sinwar destroyed your lives. He hid in a dark bunker and was killed when he fled in terror. You have a chance to free yourselves from the tyranny of Hamas. Who will lay down his arms and return the hostages to us?” “We will allow them to leave and live in peace.”
