The Director General of the Israel Space Agency. General Uri Oron and head of the Italian Space Agency, Professor Tudorio Vente, signed today a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the Breshet 2’s Space IL mission. The joint budget has not yet been determined, and it will be determined soon in talks between the two parties, but it is estimated to exceed 10 million euros. It was announced during the twentieth Ilan Ramon International Space Conference, which was held today in Tel Aviv with the participation of the upper figures from the Israeli space industry and society.
Bereshet 2 will make a decline on the moon and scientific experiments on and around the moon, including maps drawing, soil exploration and physical phenomena of its environment. It will also include a spacecraft or will revolve around the moon for five years, and it will be a platform for interactive scientific activity in Israel and around the world. The current agreement will allow Israeli and Italian researchers to cooperate in a variety of scientific and technological fields. As part of the task, new technologies such as landing sensors, communications, navigation and control will be developed.
“Italy is one of the leading spaces in space. They have great experience and enormous resources and they invest more than a billion euros every year in space. Being in the tasks of the moon.
What tasks do you participate in Israel?
“In addition to the Breshet mission that we lead, we are part of the Artemis program with NASA, and behind the space clothes that were developed for the mission by the Israeli company STEMRAD, and we are currently studying with NASA what other Israeli technologies may be needed for the task.
Peres crashed on the surface of the moon
SPaceil was established in 2010 to participate in the race to land in an uninhabited spacecraft on the moon as part of the Lunar X Prize competition. The organization was able to attract ISRAEL Aerospace Industries (IAI) and billionaire investor Maurice was in this effort. The project collected the financing of $ 95 million, despite the competition restrictions from Google, which set the maximum government support for the project. Additional donors: Maryam and Sheldon Adelesson, Sami Sajul, Lin Schusterman, Stephen Grand, Silvan Adams, and the general public through a group financing project.

The Israeli spacecraft crashes it on the moon
The Persh Moon spacecraft was launched in February 2019, but instead of landing safely, it was shattered on the moon in April, so that the task was not successful. However, the organization determined its primary role from the start as educational, and therefore it was very successful. Its activities have been widely reviewed, and thousands of activities have been conducted in schools that make fun of children’s interest in space. Israel was the seventh country that succeeded in bringing a spacecraft to the moon.
Soon after the accident, another project was announced to send a probe to the moon, with a similar budget. However, in June 2019, Morris announced that he would not support the project. However, the project received support from the Ministry of Science and the Blavatnik Family Foundation, and now from the Israel Space Agency. In 2021, it was announced that $ 70 million was raised for the mission.
When Spaceil was first launched, there was no great interest in landing on the moon, and space agencies were more focused on other missions, including reaching Mars. Since then, attention to the moon has emerged by government and civil space agencies, partly as part of the scientific competition between the United States and its 53rd partner in the Artemis, China and Russia project, which are not partners in the project.
