Over the years, Las Vegas has been known for hosting extended residencies featuring Liberace, Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, and Elvis Presley. Hometown legend Wayne Newton, who first appeared at the Fabulous Flamingo Hotel on the Strip some 60 years ago, still performs for crowds in the hotel’s Bugsy’s Cabaret.

Entertainment has evolved over the years with today’s stars taking to the stage for residencies in recent years, including Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Adele and Katy Perry.

U2 at the Sphere is the hottest ticket in Vegas

The hottest tickets in Vegas today are for rock giant U2’s 25 shows opening Sphere Entertainment (SPHR) – Get a free reportSphere at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip, beginning September 29, with December 16 as the final show so far.

U2 kicked off ticket sales on 27 April for their residency with five sold-out shows, which quickly expanded to 17 sold-out shows. Ticket sales at the U2.com subscriber and pre-sale to authorized fans sold out before Ticketmaster had a general public sale. The band and The Sphere on May 12 added eight more shows on the 1st, 2nd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th and 16th. Those shows are sure to sell out fast too.

Rumor has it that famous solo artist Harry Styles could be the next actor to reside in The Sphere after leaving U2.

When Elvis opened the then-new International Hotel off the Strip on July 2, 1969, it would become his longest-running Vegas residency, performing an estimated 636 sold-out shows through his final performance in Las Vegas on December 3. 12, 1976. During that time, the hotel became the Las Vegas Hilton and much later the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.

Right now, 1970s pop star Barry Manilow is making the International Theater at Westgate his home and his stay is expected to surpass Elvis’ record at the property in September, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. But Westgate still has room for another legendary artist.

Frankie Valley brings the Four Seasons to the iconic casino hotel

Westgate revealed it Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, with hits like “Cherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Rag Doll,” “December 63 – Oh What a Night,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” will return to the stage. Westgate International for a 14-show residency running from October 26, 2023 through October 26, 2024. Tickets are available for performances October 26-27, 2023; January 12-14, 2024; April 4-6, 2024; July 4 – July 6, 2024; and October 24 – October. 26, 2024.

Around the same time frame, Westgate also brings back the rhythm and blues/funk combo Cole and the gang, whose hits include “Celebration,” “Jungle Boogie,” and “Get Down On It,” is in 11 residency shows at the International Stage from October 5, 2023, through October 5, 2024. These performances are scheduled for October 5-7, 2023; February 9-10, 2024; May 24-25, 2024; August 2-3, 2024; and October 4-5, 2024.
