Le Poisson Rouge brings ticketing on-chain with Aptos integration

Le Poisson Rouge (LPR), a popular New York City concert hall, has entered into an exclusive partnership with live event ticketing platform KYD Labs to bring its ticketing system on-chain.

On Tuesday, Aptos Labs Advertise KYD Labs and LPR have announced an exclusive four-year deal that will allow Aptos blockchain technology to power all shows and tickets for the historic New York City venue.

LPR is the first major platform in the United States to be fully based on the chain.

The Aptos team posted on X that this collaboration is the first instance of a major venue in the US completely switching to the chain. Aptos added that this represents a major milestone for Web3, as the partnership is set to offer event-goers and music lovers at Le Poisson Rouge a new experience.

“Moving to an on-chain ticketing system is a huge step forward for blockchain services, with hundreds of thousands of tickets sold annually at a major venue in the US. Ultimately, tickets will be sold on-chain. The big benefits of this operating system include direct connectivity between event organizers and buyers, easy promotions, and reliable secondary sales,” said Avery Cheng, CTO and co-founder of Aptos Labs. He said.

KYD Labs will help LPR leverage the benefits of blockchain technology to improve the ticketing experience for fans. Leveraging Aptos’ technology will also be crucial for artists, who can further engage with fans through on-chain initiatives.

Moving to the blockchain removes the challenges and barriers associated with legacy ticketing systems.

Overall, LPR will leverage Aptos not only to monitor secondary ticket sales but also to provide a transparent mechanism for its loyalty programs, pricing, and booking rates.

Le Poisson Rouge opened in 2008 and has grown into a historic New York music venue. Aptos is a layer-one blockchain that launched in October 2022 and offers a scalable network with low transaction costs.
