Bitcoin for Business Highlights Day 1

Bitcoin for Corporations Day 1 made headlines when MicroStrategy announced its new enterprise platform for building decentralized identity applications on the Bitcoin blockchain.

“Whether custodial or non-custodial, what is clear is that every existing Bitcoin wallet must include the ability to create a digital identity based on Bitcoin,” explained MicroStrategy Executive Vice President of Engineer Cezary Raczko. “Many messaging platforms suffer from the same challenges as Email. When you receive a text message, how do you know who sent you the text message… We like to include an orange check mark for these different messaging platforms.”

Day 1 also saw “Building on Bitcoin,” a conversation between Michael Saylor and Lightspark CEO David Marcus where the pair discussed the emergence of the Bitcoin Lightning Network to enable the final, near-instant settlement of Bitcoin and other assets between counterparties. Marcus also stated his view that Bitcoin is the only logical monetary means for AI agents.
