Memecoin scam promoted through compromised X accounts

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has warned the community about a scam meme coin promotion operation using multiple X-Main accounts.

According to ZachXBT, the hacked accounts used to promote the fake meme coin on Solana (SOL) include Yahoo News UK, Lenovo India, Money Control, and People.

Two X accounts under the names Alexandre Lacazette and Oliver Stone also posted information about a fake meme coin on Solana. The fake coin in question is called HACKED, as shown in screenshots shared by ZachXBT.

ZachXBT introduced to update Which suggests that the scammers may have lost their money.

“So far it looks like the scammers may have lost money buying this way as the big traders only made $1000 and the market cap is $67k.”

According to the available details, it appears that the compromised X accounts were granted permission to the same site or app. In a warning to the community, ZachXBT advises users to cancel any connections to sites or apps they no longer use.

In August, hackers used French soccer star Kylian Mbappé’s X account to promote a fake currency called MBAP. Earlier this month, hackers hacked the X accounts of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s family members to promote a fake currency called World Liberty Financial.

It is worth noting that Trump unveiled the official cryptocurrency project on September 16.
