MetaMask has, primarily, focused on expanding its reach and boosting global crypto adoption.
Cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask has begun rolling out PayPal-backed Ether (ETH) purchases to all of its US users. Although it added PayPal integration to its software portfolio last December, the feature wasn’t immediately available to all users in the US.
However, the latest reports indicate that all users in the US can now buy and transfer ETH directly from their MetaMask mobile app.
MetaMask confirmed that the offering is the first of its kind. According to the company, it is the first Web 3.0 wallet to offer ETH transactions via PayPal.
MetaMask continues to make partnership deals focused on boosting crypto adoption
MetaMask has, primarily, focused on expanding its reach and boosting global crypto adoption. To this end, it has recently been pushing for strategic integrations and partnerships.
Recall, the crypto wallet already enjoys partnerships with several payment providers. Some of them include MoonPay, Coinbase Pay, Transak, Wyre, Sardine, and others. Therefore, PayPal is the latest payment company to join the fast-growing community of payment providers.
Meanwhile, MetaMask also recently introduced a new feature called “Buy Crypto”. This feature allows users to buy crypto in fiat currency directly from the Portfolio DApp. With this feature, users can purchase cryptocurrencies via various payment methods including bank transfers and debit or credit cards.
Likewise, PayPal also does not enter the partnership empty-handed. The partners seem to be in line with their goals considering that PayPal has also been keen on embracing crypto. According to Q1 a report Filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), PayPal now owns a total of $943 million in crypto assets. This represents a jump of 56% from the previous quarter.
The report is, without a doubt, evidence of its efforts towards cryptocurrency adoption and MetaMask is sure to help advance these goals. MetaMask will also seek to leverage PayPal’s broad user base to expand its reach and offer overpasses to its clients. As of publication, PayPal has at least 429 million users globally.
