More than 120 entrepreneurs in a long waiting list formed outside the Virgin Hotels in Shoreditch, keen to showcase their commercial ideas to the “dream elevator” before International Women's Day.
The initiative, which is led by Sir Richard Branson and businessman Simon Scib, allows the founders Delivery of a 60 -second stadium Via the video bell in the hope of obtaining global exposure and constructive comments.
The special event was organized by the founders of AIILA Money, Nitika Vyas and Elisabeth Prager, who seek to highlight the barriers facing women in creating business. Quoting statistics showing that less than 20 percent of UK companies are led by women-and only 2p £ 1 of the investment capital goes to companies that are established female-and they notice that the lack of financial confidence can hinder many promising entrepreneurs.
Simon Skinib, known for the defense of ambitious business owners, praised the diverse turnout, saying that it “should inspire women everywhere” to exchange their dreams. Vyas and Prager, who launched Money: your money PT to enable women through financial knowledge, wanted to wait for the shoredch power embodiment and the capabilities of institutions. According to Vyas, the event helped prove that when women feel confident, they can “wrap the building” with their ambition.
All stadiums presented to the dream elevator appear on the Helpbnk platform, allowing the founders to communicate with their colleagues from entrepreneurs and attract potential investors. The top ten will also receive guidelines from Virgin Startup, which is a non -profit arm for the Virgin Group group dedicated to supporting new companies. Since 2013, Virgin Startup has released more than 80 million pounds as loans starting, with a special focus on filling the gender financing gap through a 50/50 pledge to male and female founders.
Diana Granehg, operations at Virgin Startup, believes that the event is an ideal example of how to celebrate International Women's Day: by creating concrete opportunities for female projects. The attendees not only gained the vision of their ideas, but also stressed the importance of knowing reading and financial writing and believing in the leadership of female entrepreneurship forward.
