Nestlé Chairman Paul Bulcke said in an interview with the Neue Zurich am Sonntag newspaper published on Sunday that the company plans to retain ownership of the health sciences unit.
The packaged food company said last week that longtime CEO Mark Schneider had been Lauren Frakes, a company veteran, has been replaced as head of its Latin America business, effective September 1.
Asked by New Zealand Zurich about its health sciences unit, Polkey said the wellness industry has promising benefits for society.
Analysts said Nestle would benefit from the sale of the unit, whose sales this year have been hit by technology integration.
“We would not be surprised if Nestlé Health Sciences were sold in the medium term, which would be welcomed by most investors,” analysts at Zurich Kantonal Bank said in a report on Friday.
Nestlé’s (OTCPK:NSRGY) (OTCPK:NSRGF) consumer brands include Gerber baby food, KitKat candy, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, and Purina pet food.
