Nine dead, hundreds injured in second round of explosions in Lebanon

Nine people were killed and more than 300 others injured after Hezbollah’s wireless communication devices exploded this evening, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

Nine people were killed and more than 300 injured after Hezbollah radios exploded on Tuesday evening, Lebanon’s health ministry said.

The explosions come on the heels of yesterday’s blasts, which killed eight people and injured thousands after 3,000 walkie-talkies belonging to Hezbollah members exploded across Lebanon and Syria. Investigations found that the devices were manufactured in Hungary under license from a Taiwanese company.

Hezbollah accused Israel of being responsible for the explosions, although there was no official comment from Israel on the matter. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said: “We are in a new phase of the war.”
