Polygon launches zkEVM bridge allowing quick transactions

Polygon recently announced the official launch of Polygon bridger for Polygon zkEVM, highlighting some new functionality that enables fast withdrawals.

As part of its ongoing development, Polygon has announced the release of a new bridge focused on Polygon’s zkEVM layer-2 solution. This ad was made by a press release Released April 26th.

Polygon’s solution was zkEVM Launched On March 27, after months of rigorous testing.

The reports highlight that the new bridge brings some minor improvements in the user experience that have been created taking into account community feedback.

Based on reports, improvements include a more visible progress bar, transaction history, and a modernized transaction dashboard designed with a color code system progress bar. Moreover, this upgrade brings other features such as estimated time for pending transaction, ability to filter transactions, and many other upgrades.

Interestingly, the new bridge is designed to support multiple ERC-20 and ERC-777 tokens. Reports indicated that this new bridge offers an independent mapping function.

In a press release, Polygon highlighted that the bridge offers fast checkouts. Polygon mentioned that many bridges use manual assignment, where investors must take hours to assign their tokens before the transaction is completed.

Polygon’s statement indicates that assigning their independence means that the bridge assigns tokens when an investor initiates a transaction.

Moreover, Polygon explained that the new bridge is powered by ZK technology, and therefore suitable for scaling. Polygon indicated that their bridge inherits the security of Ethereum due to the use of ZK. Part of the statement is as follows:

“Bridges backed by zero-knowledge technology are better than those powered by other technologies because they are entirely governed by smart contracts: one on Ethereum, the other on Polygon zkEVM.”

Polygon is proud of its growing adoption

In the press release, Polygon explained that the zkEVM layer-2 solution already has many teams building on it. The teams include infrastructure providers, digital applications, and even game projects.

Featured teams include Alchemy, The Graph, ANKR, Sequence, Midnight Society, Oath of Peak, Balancer, Lens, and more. Recently, Uniswap passed a launch proposal on zkEVM.
