Francis Suarez, the mayor of Miami and a well-known cryptocurrency advocate, has filed papers indicating his intention to run for president of the United States in 2024.
He will join the likes of former US President Donald Trump and fellow Florida Governor Ron DeSantis – another advocate of Bitcoin (BTC) – in vying to lead the Republican Party’s bid for the presidency.
Suarez officially submitted the papers on June 14, according On documents released by the US Federal Election Commission.

Suarez scheduled to speak at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California on June 16, where he is expected to talk about his presidential plans in more depth.

In June 2022, Suarez stated that Bitcoin could become a global currency and he had accepted his salary in Bitcoin in the past.
Suarez also participated in “MiamiCoin” in January 2022, which Miami residents can buy with a digital wallet and get bitcoin returns.
