Retail sales fall sharply in March as weak confidence hits consumer spending

Retailing traders across the United Kingdom have reported a sharp decrease in sales this month, as fragile consumer confidence continues to influence spending, according to the British Federation of Industry (CBI).

The latest distribution of the business group, which was released just one day before the Spring statement from Rachel Reeves, showed that retail sales sizes decreased on an annual basis in March-on the occasion of the monthly decrease in a row. It represents a sharp decrease in retail sales in eight months, and highlights the ongoing pressures facing both consumers and companies.

The data adds to the results of a separate survey conducted by KPMG, which also revealed that living families reduce daily purchases in response to high costs and economic certainty.

Martin Cartores, the main economist at the Central Bank of Iraq, warned that expectations remain dark: “The annual retail sales volumes have decreased significantly in March, and it is expected to continue to decline next month. Companies in the retail sectors and wholesale stated that global trade tensions and autumn budget weighing consumer and commercial confidence, which indicate a decrease in demand.”

He added that Reeves Al -Rubaie's statement is likely to shed light on the ongoing structural challenges in the United Kingdom and urge the government to provide policies that restore work confidence and pay investment.

“Reforming business prices, supporting the plan to ensure growth in the British Business Bank, and providing resources properly for growth and skills that can support investment plans in companies and pay growth aspirations in the government,” said Sartorius.

The CBI scan is based on the difference between the number of retailers who report height and low sales. I found that sales volumes decreased at an accelerated rate in the year to March, and although the retreat is expected to slow next month, retailers still expect April to be a faint.

The sales of time of the year was once again judged as less than seasonal standards, and continued the direction seen in February. With global economic uncertainty, domestic financial tightening and constant costs in the sting, the retail sector appears to be preparing for a difficult spring.
