WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Seven people, including a 6-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, were killed when a bus overturned east of Vicksburg, Mississippi, early Saturday morning, Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said.

The coroner said the two young victims were siblings.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 12:40 a.m. on Interstate 20 near Bovina in Warren County when a 2018 Volvo (OTC:) commercial passenger bus traveling westbound left the roadway and overturned.

The agency said 37 passengers were taken to different hospitals with unknown injuries, adding that the co-driver was not transported.

“Any time you have people injured or killed, it’s tragic, but when you have a situation like this where you have multiple people killed and injured, it’s even worse,” Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told ABC affiliate WABC.

Most of the passengers on the bus were Latin American, Huskey said.
