In an ongoing series of With SHIB: The Metaverse opening Early Access on December 25, Kusama’s recent comments suggest that TREAT is poised to become the main focus of the Shiba Inu roadmap in early 2025.
The role of therapy in the Shiba Inu ecosystem
On December 31, Kusama approached X to provide clarification regarding TREAT’s function. In widespread circulation now mailHe wrote: “What if there was a way to award transaction rewards for participation and access through a token? What if it served as the backbone of an operating system that could run network state and its universal adoption could solve many of the world’s problems? What if it actually did. #treats”
Kusama’s statement notes that TREAT is not just intended to be another tradable asset in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, but rather a multi-faceted token designed to incentivize participation, grant access to advanced features, and promote what he calls “network status.” While details are still partly under wraps, these notes underscore the development team’s ambition to push TREAT to the forefront of the Shiba Inu’s global reach.
In a mail On December 27, Kusama highlighted the launch of the Shiba Inu Metaverse and then focused on the imminent launch of the TREAT token: “Now that the Metaverse is well rolled out and those who said it wouldn’t come are silent again, it’s time to start talking about the cure, the future of our state, and what we’ve done.” in the last few years to ensure that we are at the forefront. Stay tuned…”
Kusama’s comment indicates that TREAT’s development has been in progress for a long time. The collective story now appears to be moving quickly from the Metaverse expansion to TREAT’s debut.
Adding to the anticipation, Kusama revealed on December 30 that he plans to reveal more detailed information via a podcast, broadcast within the newly launched Metaverse. In his words:
“My podcast will consist of 44 episodes that really talk from the heart and explain something very important… all the technology we’ve built (some of which you’ve seen), how it all connects to #Treat, and how everything fits together (perfectly) to save the world. Ready? I’m … We’ll talk Monday on memes Tuesday about therapy and how it fits (…) Next year is going to be epic, and I’m so excited to share what we’ve built LFGGGGOOOO!
Earlier this month, Kusama also confirmed TREAT’s role in powering fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) through a long-term research partnership with Ogai, saying: “Of course it is! And OGAI using FHE is just one use case for FHE. But TREAT TREAT actually has many uses outside of just FHE, and we have many technical pieces as well.
Highlighting previous discussions surrounding Shiba Inu development, Kusama pointed to broader trust and governance solutions within the ecosystem, tweeting in November: “The karma and reputation built into the core elements of the Shib ecosystem and advanced features powered by Treat will solve this problem once and for all.” “Forever.”
His comment alluded to the memecoin “rug-pulling” incident by streamer Jack Doherty – an example of how many digital assets can fail without strong trust mechanisms. Kusama’s post notes that TREAT’s integrated reputation systems can mitigate these risks to members of the Shiba Inu community.
Longtime followers of the Shiba Inu landscape know that SHIB, LEASH and BONE each serve different purposes. According to Kusama: “Every token has its own utility and management, and TREAT is the access token to all the advanced features of our system, unlike Leash, which is about exclusivity, or Bone, which is focused on technology.”
At press time, SHIB was trading at $0.00002180.
