Smotrich keeps gasoline price unchanged for July

The maximum retail price for a liter of unleaded 95-octane government gasoline at self-service pumps will remain unchanged at NIS 6.85 in July.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced that the maximum retail price for a liter of 95-octane unleaded government gasoline at self-service pumps will remain unchanged at NIS 6.85 in July.

Smotrich signed an order extending tax cuts and purchase taxes on gasoline. According to the order, during the month of July, the production tax and the purchase tax on gasoline will be 2,988.33 shekels per thousand liters, which in effect means a reduction of 0.41.5 shekels per liter in the tax compared to the full amount of the tax that must be imposed.

Since April 2022, due to the sharp rise in oil prices following the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, orders have been signed to reduce the amount of purchase tax and taxes on gasoline. During the month of June, the reduction is 0.50 shekels per liter, so the toll actually goes up by 0.8.50 shekels per liter on July 1.
