Jakarta, Indonesia (AP) – The only nuclear power plant was built in Southeast Asia, four decades ago in Patan, about 40 miles from the Philippine capital, Manila, in the seventies of the last century, but left inactivity due to safety and corruption. It never produced one power of energy.

Now the Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia are now looking to develop nuclear energy in their pursuit of cleaner and more reliable energy. Nuclear energy is seen by its supporters as a climate, because the reactors do not emit greenhouses that provoke the accuracy that is launched by burning coal, gas or oil. Progress in technology helped reduce the risks resulting from radiation, making nuclear plants safer, cheaper for construction and smaller.

“It is expected that the year 2025 is a new signs of a new era in nuclear energy around the world.” National plans and interest in smaller nuclear reactors.
Nuclear energy has been used for contracts in the richer countries such as the United States, France and Japan. It produces about 10 % of all the electricity generated around the world, with 413 GB of 32 countries operating, according to IEA. This is more than the ability to generate the entire Africa. IEA says building new nuclear power plants needs to be “largely accelerating” in this contract to meet global goals to end greenhouse gas emissions.
Southeast Asia will represent a fourth of the growth of global demand for energy demand between now and 2035, and fossil fuel for most of the energy capacity in the region. Many countries in the region show an interest in building nuclear power plants – which usually produce Gigawatt one energy for each factory – to help wipe their blurring sky and reinforcement capacity.

Indonesia plans 20 nuclear power plants. A Korean company evaluates the restarting of the Filipinn Factory. Vietnam has revived nuclear plans, and the future plans of Malaysia include nuclear energy. Singapore has signed a nuclear cooperation agreement with the United States last year, and Thailand, Laus, Cambodia and Myanmar have shown interest in nuclear energy.
But expensive nuclear power plants take years to build and require a long time to be profitable. Vietnam suspended a nuclear project in 2016 after the costs rose to $ 18 billion, but on January 14, a deal with Russia signed the atomic cooperation of energy.
Henry Preston, director of communications in the United Kingdom at the World Assembly at the Nuclear Assembly, said, noting that 14 major financial institutions approved a goal to capture international nuclear energy in 2050 at the Climate Week at NYC Climate Week.
Funding sources are still limited, though. The World Bank does not finance any nuclear energy development projects.
“We hear the invitation from some stakeholders to explore nuclear energy to remove energy carbon energy and improve the reliability of energy supplies,” a World Bank spokesman said in a recently written response to Associated Press questions. “We do not continue to hold talks with the Board of Directors, the administration and the external stakeholders to understand the facts. That is, reconsider our position is in the end a decision for our member countries.”

Preston said that the development of strong nuclear energy policies and systems, which now lacks many countries, can stimulate more funding through the reassurance of investors.
Experts say technological developments make nuclear energy more affordable.
Small normative reactors, which preachers say can generate up to a third of the traditional reactor energy, can be built faster and at lower costs than large energy reactors, which leads to the connection of a specific location needs. Defenders say they are safer due to the simplest designs, lower basic energy, and more cooling, giving operators more time to respond in the event of accidents.
Potha Adjona of the Institute of Thought Tank Daban Ingreet in Jakarta said that critics are asking about the extent of technology licenses because the smaller reactors were not widely published commercially.
Small normative reactors that already operate with state -owned entities are operated that are not transparent about performance or costs. He said that the cost of the first such a reactor was to be published commercially in the United States, which exaggerated it by half before it was canceled. The project, which is based in its headquarters, had a target of providing 40 years of electricity at $ 55 per megawam, but the project costs rose to $ 89 per megawatts, according to a report issued by the Institute of Energy Economy and Financial Analysis.

Nuclear disasters are eager to enthusiasm for nuclear energy in Southeast Asia. The 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine was a factor behind the decision to attach the project in the Philippines. The collapse at the Dai Eichy Nuclear Energy Station in Fukushima, Japan, after a catastrophic earthquake and also raised concerns, prompting Thailand to stop nuclear energy plans. In 2018, the Prime Minister in Malaysia, Mahathir Muhammad, was killed such disasters when a decision against the use of nuclear energy.
Some other challenges remain. Nuclear technology markets are still focused in a few countries – Russia controls about 40 % of the world’s fertilized uranium supplies – this is a dangerous “for the future”. He added that the disposal of the fuel that has been safely spent and other radiological waste is necessary to gain the general acceptance of nuclear energy.
For countries like Vietnam, the lack of engineers and scientists is also a big obstacle. It is estimated that he will need about 2,400 trained individuals to revive his nuclear program.
“This is not only related to the program, but rather is related to building an ecosystem for nuclear energy and technology for the future,” the company, which is run by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ngawin Hong Dean, was killed.
