Taco Bell Menu Adds Two New Takes On a Modern Classic

Taco Bell is not limited to what would traditionally be defined as traditional Mexican food. Instead, it uses flavors and ingredients that are popular in this cuisine and expressively yields to create completely new ideas.

Some are bold and familiar. Mexican pizza isn’t an uncommon dish when you look at its ingredients, but it’s also not something you’ve seen before Yum Brands. (Yum) – Get a free report The series added them to lists (then removed them, then brought them back, and finally put them back forever.

Don’t miss: McDonald’s menu is testing a bold new item

Taco Bell’s willingness to do the unconventional (or “think outside the cake,” as it has been said in its commercials for years) allows it more freedom than McDonald’s. Burger King has been kind of innovative with their Chicken Fries, but these are really just a nugget in a different shape. Wendy’s serves chili, and that’s kind of unique, but it’s really just a new way to get a second life out of your old hamburger. McDonald’s, of course, has McPizza and McSpgahetti in its distant past, but the most recent effort has been Mighty Wings, an uninspired step on a fried chicken wing.

Taco Bell has been by far the most innovative chain that has allowed them to take something that burger chains primarily have — french fries — and make it their own. Now, the inventive restaurant has a new take on nacho fries that it also uses in a clever secondary way.

Taco Bell has tried a variety of versions of their Nacho Fries.

Taco Bell’s menu adds a new type of Nacho Fries

One of the smartest things Taco Bell has been able to do is take a new sauce or topping and use it to make many new products. That’s what the chain is doing with its new Steak Chili Verde Fries, available through June 28 (or while supplies last.

Essentially, the new fries are old school fries with the addition of steak and Taco Bell’s new Chili Verde sauce that “includes jalapeños, lime, and spicy herbs.” The company shared a press release. Drizzle the sauce over crispy, seasoned fries” along with Taco Bell’s signature warm nacho cheese sauce, a triple cheese blend, low-fat sour cream, crispy fiesta strips, and grilled marinated steak.

The new Chili Verde Fries are $4.49, though prices may vary by location.

“Our food innovation team wanted to create layers of flavors for our Nacho Fries, and we’re proud of the boldness of our new Chili Verde Sauce. You can really taste the well-balanced pops of lemon, garlic, and jalapeno in the sauce and it’s the perfect pairing for our beloved Nacho Fries,” shares Liz Matthews, Chief Innovation Officer. Taco Bell is adding more menu options, too

Taco Bell will also be making Chili Verde Fries with other toppings. You can order any proteins the chain sells, and while these aren’t official menu items, you should be able to order them.

Moreover. Taco Bell also offers vegan variations that can include not including meat or adding beans to the dish.

And, in classic Taco Bell fashion, the chain uses new sauce and fries to create an entirely different product.

“Fans can also try the Steak Chili Verde Fries Burrito Bowl, which is made with the same flavors and ingredients as the Steak Chili Verde Fries, but wrapped in a warm tortilla for $3.99,” the company posted on its website.
