Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.38% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials and Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the STOXX 500 index fell 0.38% to its lowest level in a month.

The session’s top performer was Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:), which rose 9.98% or 2.45 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Chroma ATE Inc (TW:) added 6.79% or 22.00 points to close at 346.00 and Global BMX Co., Ltd. TW: shares rose 6.07%, or 7.50 points, to 131.00 in late trading.

The worst performance in the session was shy Tech Inc (TW:) stock fell 9.96%, or 5.20 points, to trade at 47.00 at the close. Arima Communications Corp (TW:) stock fell 9.95%, or 0.21 points, to close at 1.90 and Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:) stock fell 9.94%, or 3.10 points, to close at 28.10.

Declining stocks outperformed advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by a ratio of 0 to 0.

Chroma ATE Inc (TW:) shares rose to an all-time high, gaining 6.79% or 22.00 points to 346.00. Arima Communications Corp (TW:) shares also fell to an all-time low, losing 9.95% or 0.21 points to 1.90.

Crude oil futures for October delivery rose 1.00%, or $0.66, to $66.41 a barrel. In other trading, Brent crude futures for November delivery rose 1.01%, or $0.70, to $69.89 a barrel, while gold futures for December delivery rose 0.32%, or $8.20, to trade at $2,551.30 an ounce.

The USD/TWD pair fell 0.22% to 32.12, while the TWD/CNY pair remained unchanged, down 0.09% to 0.22.

The US dollar index fell 0.26% to 101.34.
