Terraform’s Do Kwon Claims He Didn’t Know His Password Was Fake (Report)

Do Kwon, who was recently arrested in Montenegro after evading authorities for several months, claimed he had no idea the Costa Rican passport he was traveling with was fake.

He admitted that he obtained the passport from an agency in Singapore.

  • Since the catastrophic collapse of the Terra ecosystem a year ago, Do Kwon, the person behind the protocol, has been blamed by many for his role. Although he claimed that he was not trying to escape from the authorities, his location was not known until recently when he was arrested in the European country – Montenegro – while carrying a fake passport.
  • His time in a local jail was somewhat controversial as his bail request of $400,000 was first granted before being denied and then granted again.
  • And another report a few days ago confirmed that Kwon’s detention could be extended for six months before the authorities decide whether to remove him to the United States or South Korea.
  • during he heard At the Podorica District Court in the Montenegrin capital on June 16, Kwon explained that he obtained the arrested Costa Rican passport through an agency in Singapore “recommended by a friend.”

“I traveled around the world with a Costa Rican passport. If I suspected it was a fake passport, I wouldn’t have traveled to so many countries.”

  • He also tried to obtain a Granada passport, but was refused. However, when asked about the name of that agency, Kwon said he did not remember it, he only knew it was Chinese.
  • According to the report, Kwon was carrying a Belgian passport when he was arrested. Attorney General Harris Šapowicz said that the two passports had different names and different dates of birth, making it clear that they were “created with bad intent. Please punish it appropriately.”
  • Kwon also urged the judge to punish him only because he was caught with a fake passport, as the former Terraform CFO who he was with – Han Chang Joon – was innocent.
