(Reuters) – The company said in a tweet on Saturday that Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: ) has built its first electric truck at the electric vehicle brand’s factory in Austin, Texas, after two years of delays.

Tesla founder Elon Musk introduced the minivan in 2019 as the car’s designer revealed the car’s supposedly unbreakable windows.

The company has since pushed back the timing of production, and last year Musk cited a shortage of component sources as a reason to push the Cybertruck’s launch to 2023.

At a shareholder meeting in May, Musk said Tesla would like to produce a quarter of a million Cybertrucks annually, depending on demand.

The launch of the Cybertruck would give Tesla an electric car in one of the most profitable segments of the American market and a competitor to electric trucks from the likes of Ford Motor (NYSE: .N) and Rivian Automotive (RIVN.O), both of which have launched models in limited numbers.

Reuters reported last year that Tesla aims to start mass production of the e-truck at the end of 2023.
