United AirlinesNASDAQ: UAL) said on Saturday that most of its technology systems were back up and running a day after a global IT outage, while American Airlines said itNASDAQ:AL) said its operations were fully back to normal.

In an emailed statement to Seeking Alpha, United (UAL) said it would continue to see cancellations and delays through the weekend, without specifying a specific number. Meanwhile, American (AAL) said in an emailed statement that it had canceled 43 total flights as of Saturday afternoon, or less than 1% of its total operations.
Delta Air Lines Inc. separately said another 600 of its flights were canceled on Saturday, after more than 1,200 on Friday. Delta also said a travel waiver remains in effect for customers, a move echoed by United, which extended its travel waiver through Sunday.
“Our top priority today is getting our customers to their destinations as we continue to restore our schedule,” United (UAL) said, adding that its customer service centers were fully operational.
“We know this has been a difficult event for our airline customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to safely restore our operations on time,” United (UAL) added.
American Airlines (AAL) said it had completed more than 99% of scheduled departures so far on Saturday, while adding that without the CRWD service disruption it would have had just 10 cancellations versus 43.
“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we thank them for their patience as our team worked together around the clock to return to normal operations just one day after the global outage,” American (AAL) told Seeking Alpha.
In another notable development, US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he had heard reports of “some airlines offering flight credits to passengers in the event of flight cancellations.”
“Let me be clear — you have the right to an immediate refund if your flight is canceled and you do not rebook,” Buttigieg said. He said On X (formerly Twitter).
